3D Icon Design and Animation for the Graphical User Interface (GUI) of our DreamLight Constellation Application

DreamLight created this 3D icon design and animation for our DreamLight Constellation™ software utility. DreamLight Constellation is our drag-and-drop network rendering utility. It’s a Graphical User Interface (GUI) front end for drag and drop configuration and management of LightWave 3D’s ScreamerNet network rendering on both the Macintosh and Windows. The 3D icon is used as the application desktop icon as well as a 3D animated logo on the software GUI’s branded header banner.

Feel free to download the free version of the DreamLight Constellation application to see the animated logo in action at the full resolution. The constellation space station icon/logo slowly rotates while the nodes are being processed. When processing is paused, the animation also pauses, providing an at-a-glance indication of the network processing. The following YouTube video also shows the 3D icon/logo animation but YouTube re-compresses the video which scales and blurs the animation.

The DreamLight Constellation icon (left) was designed to convey the concept of a simple hub that connects to and controls multiple nodes of our companion utility – DLI_SNUB-Lanucher™. DLI_SNUB-Launcher is our GUI front end utility for easy drag-and-drop configuration and launching of LightWave 3D ScreamerNet’s LWSN render nodes. So the icon incorporates our award-winning DLI_SNUB-Launcher icon (right).
